Google has updated their satellite imagery for a lot more areas than before, this includes India (via). As soon as I found out about this major update, I started looking for places which I had visited/grew up in. Here are a few places I found. I will soon add more. You can take a look at these satellite images at http://www.mibazaar.com/maps where you can zoom in and out of these locations.
Agra - Taj Mahal 
Amritsar - Golden Temple 
Mumbai - Plane over Arabian Sea after clearing Sahar Airport:
